Thune in Bridgewater, Scotland today
Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., will tour NST Labs in Bridgewater today before attending a medal presentation for Delmar Strunk in Scotland.
At 10:45 a.m., Thune will tour the NST Labs before leaving to participate in the 1:30 p.m. medal presentation for Strunk at the city hall auditorium in Scotland.
Strunk, 92, one of the last surviving members of the famed World War II guerrilla force known as "Merrill's Marauders," will be presented the Bronze Star Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign Medal, U.S. Army Ranger Tab, and the Presidential Unit Citation. These awards will be presented by Col. Marshall Michels, Ranger Lt. Colonel Orson Ward, Ranger Sgt. First Class Burle Christofferson, and Sen. Thune.
