Tabor, McCook/Miner stay alive at State B Legion
TABOR -- The Tabor Legion baseball team rallied from an early deficit to stay alive wit a 4-3 win over Piedmont in its second game at the state B Legion baseball tournament Saturday in Tabor.
Post 183 fell behind 3-0 after four innings in the elimination game, but came back with four runs in the fifth inning and held on for the win.
Tabor overcame six errors and just five hits in the win. Austin Kaul was the winning pitcher for Post 183. Ross Kortan finished with two hits, including a double, while Cole Uecker, Kaul and Andrew Roland each finished with a single.
Tabor plays the loser of a game between Castlewood/Clear Lake and Madison. The elimination game will start 1 p.m. today.
In the first elimination game Saturday, McCook/Miner defeated Parkston 10-6 after a rain delay pushed the conclusion of the game that started at 10 a.m. to after 4 p.m.
McCook/Miner plays an elimination game 30 minutes after the end of the 1 p.m. game Sunday. McCook/Miner's opponent will be the loser of Dakota Valley and Groton.
