Sue Bannwarth age 64, of Fulton, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at her home due to a long illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, SD with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, July 25, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church with a scripture service beginning at 7:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.

Susanna Kay Bannwarth, daughter of Joe and Freda (Kolb) Brtna, was born August 15, 1949 in Chamberlain, SD. She attended country schools South of Kimball and graduated from Kimball High school in 1967. She received her X-Ray Tech degree from the Methodist Hospital School of Radiological Technology in 1969. She worked in Wisconsin and at the Mitchell Clinic until marriage.

Sue was united in marriage to James Bannwarth on March 6, 1971 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell and moved northeast of Mitchell to a farm where they raised six boys.

Sue enjoyed canning and was known to many as the "Pickle Lady". She had many loves including her grandkids, embroidery, cooking, baking and craft shows.

She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband James; her children Dan (Jill), Bob (Stephanie), Tom (Marti), and Duane (Stacey) Bannwarth, all of Mitchell, Mike (Jen) of Crooks, SD and Joe (Kim) of Gretna, NE; nine grandchildren with one on the way; brothers Joe (Jan) Brtna of Mitchell and Ellison (Donna) of Sioux Falls and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Haley Bannwarth and sister-in-law Janice Brtna.

In lieu of flowers the family of Sue Bannwarth will be directing memorials to her favorite charities.
