Stuntman burned at Sturgis' Buffalo Chip
STURGIS (AP) — A professional stuntman suffered third-degree burns at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota while trying to set a world record for longest ride on a motorcycle through a tunnel of fire.
The Buffalo Chip Campground issued a statement saying Clint Ewing exited the side of the 2,900-degree tunnel Wednesday engulfed in flames after being inside for only a few seconds.
Emergency crews surrounded Ewing and extinguished the flames. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated and later released.
The Rapid City Journal reports that Ewing's attempt was part of the Buffalo Chip's first-ever Daredevil Wednesday event.
