Spearfish motorcycle maker lays off workers
RAPID CITY (AP) -- A Spearfish company that makes three-wheeled motorcycles has laid off some of its workers.
But Ken Hines, president of Lehman Trikes, said that the layoffs are temporary and that the workers could be hired back when the company receives a major investment.
Hines would not say how many employees had been laid off or how many remained. But he says all the workers have been told they will be first on the company's recall list.
Hines says the plant is still open. He says he believes the company eventually will be stronger after an investment firm with motorcycling experience provides more financial capital.
