South Dakota group seeks turkeys for low-income people
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — The Feeding South Dakota hunger relief organization is seeking donations to provide Thanksgiving turkeys to people who are struggling to buy food.
Kerri DeGraff of Feeding South Dakota tells KELO-TV the nonprofit organization is bracing for an unprecedented number of families asking for help this holiday season. He says an increased number of people are seeking help at food pantries.
Feeding South Dakota hopes to get enough donations to provide 2,600 turkeys, with 2,000 of them going to Sioux Falls.
The organization will accept donations of cash or turkeys at its food banks.
