South Dakota bank contributes $35,000 for livestock program
RAPID CITY (AP) — A South Dakota bank has contributed $35,000 to a program to help ranchers who lost cattle to an early October blizzard.
KOTA-TV reported the donation by the South Dakota branches of First Interstate Bank and the First Interstate BancSystem will go toward the purchase of 33 heifer calves.
The calves will be auctioned at various sale barns through a rollover auction, meaning the animals can be sold more than once.
Over 20 sale barns throughout Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota have already agreed to participate in the program.
