Sioux Falls a candidate to host NCAA Div. II championships

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Sioux Falls is a candidate to host NCAA Division II finals in five sports from 2015-18.

South Dakota’s largest city is among the final few being considered for men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field in any and all of the four years based on bids submitted by the Sioux Falls Sports Authority.

The NCAA will announce the winning sites Dec. 11.

The Argus Leader reports that the recently opened Sanford Pentagon, the under-construction Denny Sanford Premier Center and the University of Sioux Falls track complex are among sites in Sioux Falls that could host events.
