Adam Thomas Boggs, 29, is charged with failing to notify police of a change in his address as a sex offender and residing within a community safe zone, both felonies with a maximum punishment of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.

According to court documents, Boggs moved out of his registered address two weeks before his arrest, and had been living with his mother and another person at another residence at 411 W. Fourth Ave., near First Lutheran Child Learning Center. Boggs has also lived at 713 W. Norway Ave., which is near L.B. Williams. Both addresses were within community safe zones, according to Mitchell Police Detective Lt. Don Everson.

Registered sex offenders are required by law to provide written notice to law enforcement within five days of changing their address.

Boggs is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
