Seahawks get back on track with win over Mount Vernon

ETHAN -- Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan scored 46 second-quarter points en route to a 60-12 win over Mount Vernon in a high school football game Friday afternoon.

The Seahawks had 13 players get at least one carry, finishing with 311 yards on the ground.

Anthony Huber had six carries for 79 yards for the Seahawks, who lost last week to Canistota 16-8 but picked up their second win of the season.

At quarterback for BEE was Jace Connor, who was 3-for-4 passing for 34 yards and three touchdowns.

Terry Weber and Blake Bartscher each had seven tackles to lead the Seahawks' defense. Rylee Riggs added an interception.

Mount Vernon, which had 192 yards rushing, was led by Cote Hinker's 79 yards on 11 carries. He also led the defense with 10 tackles.

The Mustangs completed one pass in the game, a 5-yarder from Deric Denning to Cody Renken. Renken also added 10 tackles.

BEE (2-1) plays at Hanson in Alexandrian on Friday, while Mount Vernon (1-2) hosts Canistota Friday.

GREGORY -- Three Kimball/White Lake running backs had at least 100 yards rushing in a 65-28 win over Gregory Friday.

Trevor Reinesch had 15 carries for 130 yards and three touchdowns, Jake Kirsch ran 17 times for 122 yards and one touchdown and Kyle Peters had eight carries for 116 yards and two touchdowns. The WiLdKats moved to 4-0 with 45 rushes for 390 yards.

Jesse Taylor completed 5 of 8 passes for 118 yards. Peters had three receptions for 81 yards and also caught a 49-yard TD. Taylor added eight tackles and an interception with 7 seconds before the half that he returned 45 yards for a touchdown. The score gave KWL a 37-20 lead.

For Gregory, Derek Stukel scored from the first play from scrimmage on an 81-yard touchdown run. Stukel had four rushes for 96 yards and a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Stukel added 13 tackles defensively.

Jaden Bartling had 16 rushes for 67 yards and two touchdowns. He was 9-of-22 passing for 186 yards. Gregory finished with 378 yards of total offense in the loss.

KWL (4-0) plays at Lyman in Presho Friday, while Gregory (3-1) hosts Marty Friday.

Easton with 7 carries for 77 yards and had 134 fumble return yards for two touchdowns. Todd Steckl completed 2-of-4 passing for 51 yards and two touchdowns, while Landon Ochsner had eight tackles.

O'Malley had 12 carries for 71 yards and completed 10 passes for 278 yards. Josh DeRaad had four receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown for Centerville. Logan Hunter had 25 tackles.

Menno's Austin Herrboldt had 24 carries for 147 yards and one touchdown, while Chet Peterson carried the ball 29 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Tyrell Bertsch had nine tackles and three sacks.

Bon Homme was led by Blasé Vanecek, who had eight carries for 27 yards and was 4-of-7 passing for 33 yards. Ross Kortan rushed 71 yards on seven carries. Scott Wieseler had 11 tackles and Alec Weber added nine.

Bon Homme (2-2) hosts Wagner Friday. Garretson (2-2) hosts Flandreau Sept. 28th.

Cohl Ratermann had two receptions for 48 yards. Zach Ekberg had two receptions for 42 yards. Lane Fawcett had one reception for 16 yards. Kinzer recorded 11 tackles and one interception and Odden had 10 tackles. Brady London had one interception and Chase Hrabanek had a fumble recovery.
