National Park Service director Jonathan Jarvis says the grants will help tribes preserve their important cultural sites so that all Americans can gain a better appreciation of their traditions and cultures. The money can be used for education, planning, reports and repair work.

The state's nine tribes are each receiving between $25,000 and $35,000.
