SD retailers confident about holidays
PIERRE (AP) -- The head of the South Dakota Retailers Association says most retailers are feeling confident about this year's holiday shopping season. Executive Director Shawn Lyons said sales tax numbers have been strong this year. Lyons says that with the election over, most retailers say people feel confident enough to spend money. Lyons says the traditional items like electronics and applicants will be the big sellers this year. Lyons says the drought has impacted businesses in many parts of the state this year. But Lyons says retailers he has talked to don't believe this will effect holiday shopping.
