SD official warns of robocall credit card scam
Mitchell South Dakota 120 South Lawler 57301

PIERRE (AP) — An automated phone message has been prompting MasterCard customers to enter their card numbers in the dial pad.

The South Dakota Attorney General warns consumers that this robocall is a scam.

The caller ID number tied to the calls belongs to a Huston insurance company that is reportedly not associated with the scam.

Consumers are advised to hang up on the call without pressing any numbers on their phone.

Authorities urge those with questions and those who believe they have been victims of the scam to contact the South Dakota Consumer Protection Division 1-800-300-1986. People should contact their financial institutions if they've given out their personal information to suspicious robo callers.
