KELO-TV reports that a letter sent by 114th Fighter Wing commander Col. Russ Walz to airmen says names, Social Security numbers and other information was included in a March 2 email sent by a unit member to a real estate company.

Walz says in his letter that there's a "low probability the compromised information will be used for an unlawful purpose." But he says soldiers might want to place a fraud alert on their credit files.

South Dakota Guard spokesman Maj. Anthony Deiss says no more details will be provided while the investigation continues.
