RAPID CITY (AP) — The former South Dakota governor’s mansion in Rapid City that was purchased last month for $410,000 has been sold again, this time for $425,000.

The Rapid City Journal reports that Rod Woodruff, who owns a campground near Sturgis, bought the home at the Aug. 22 auction and sold it to Jason and Elizabeth Pendegraft.

Woodruff’s identity was not disclosed after the auction, where bidding on the house started at $600,000 and went down.

The 18-room, 7,000-square-foot home that sits on 17 acres was moved in 2003 from Pierre to Rapid City to make way for the new $3 million, 14,000-square-foot, 73-room governor’s mansion.

Elizabeth Pendegraft says she runs a painting company so the purchase is like a “dream come true.”

The Associated Press news article did not include a place of residence for the Pendegrafts or information about the painting business.
