SD Capitol tree lighting ceremony is Tuesday
PIERRE (AP) — South Dakota's Capitol comes alive for Christmas this week.
The lighting ceremony for nearly 100 decorated trees set up around the building is Tuesday evening.
The trees were decorated by volunteers from communities, schools, churches, nonprofit organizations and state government offices.
The largest of the trees in the rotunda was decorated by the Department of Game, Fish & Parks. The 38-foot blue spruce was donated by Brandon residents Cassandra and Brandon Deffenbaugh.
