MHS to host youth basketball camp

The Mitchell High School basketball team will be hosting a Little Kernel basketball camp Sunday in the Mitchell High School gymnasium.

The camp is for all parents, coaches and basketball players in grades one through six.

The camp starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. First and second graders will be dismissed at 7 p.m.

There is a request for a $5 donation to learn from the Mitchell basketball squad and first-year head coach Erik Skoglund.

Doane tops DWU

The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team fell to Great Plains Athletic Conference foe Doane College in three sets Friday.

Set scores were 25-22, 26-24, 25-18.

Taylor Spence, Elizabeth Humiston and Hannah Hammer each had seven kills to lead the way for Wesleyan.

DWU (7-24, 0-13, GPAC) plays Dordt 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mitchell.
