Sanborn Central Ag Ed, Woonsocket Ag Ed receive grant

The Sanborn Central Agricultural Education and Woonsocket Agricultural Education programs have been selected to receive a $2,000 grant from Farm Credit Services of America through the Working Here Fund.

Through their Working Here Fund, Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) has set aside grant funds for projects and organizations that make a positive, long-term impact in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota or Wyoming in the areas of Agricultural Education, Young and Beginning Producers, and Hunger and Nutrition.

This grant will be applied towards the purchase of new Farm, Ranch, and Agricultural Business Management Books and Student Guides from John Deere. "These books will greatly benefit the community and the local economy by providing our students with quality and up to date material, " Said Mr. Shane Gross, Sanborn Central and Woonsocket Agricultural Instructor. The new materials will be on hand for the upcoming school year and implemented into each school's Agricultural Business Management classes.
