Prosecutors will not file charges in overdose death of musician Prince

Geddes - Ruth Alice Johnson, 76, died Saturday, November 9 at the Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 12 at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Geddes. Visitation will be Monday, November 11 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at the United Methodist Church in Geddes. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Ruth Alice Johnson was born January 1, 1937 to Ralph and Blanche (Dummer) Chambers at Bonesteel, SD. She graduated from Tripp High School in Tripp, SD in 1955. She was united in marriage to Clifford Johnson on June 6, 1955 at the United Methodist Church in Geddes, SD. They farmed near Geddes until retiring and moving into Geddes in 2008. She was an active member of Ruth's Circle, Red Hatters Society, Pioneer Club, Civic Club, Senior Citizens and Bible study group in Platte. Ruth was also a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening; playing cards, Yatzee and Uno; fishing; quilting; and puzzles but she most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth went to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour, SD at the age of 76.

She is survived by her 4 children: Larry (Ann) Johnson of Geddes; David (Cherry) Johnson of Mitchell, SD; Beverly (Tim) Leibel of Wagner, SD; and Wanda (Ken) Graves of Mitchell; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl (Judy) Chambers of Blunt, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford on September 21, 2010; and 5 siblings: Hazel Lunn, Lawrence Chambers, Howard Chambers, Gladys Pease, and Don Chambers.
