Bob was born January 25, 1926, to William H. and Faye E. (Freeman) Pulse on the family farm where he resided for 86 years. He wed Betty J. Moore of Mitchell on November 16, 1946, and to their union were born William Henry (Bill), Marianne, Daniel Robert (Dan), and Philip Gene (Phil). Bob had an unwavering faith in God and a love for the Bible throughout his life. He was a farmer well-known for his Registered Angus herd. He enjoyed flying his own plane. Bob & Betty enjoyed traveling and their last long trip together was to Alaska in 2007. They moved to Countryside Assisted Living in Mitchell in March, 2012. Bob entered Firesteel Healthcare Center in May, 2013. He often commented about the good care he received at Firesteel from the staff and hospice. After entering Firesteel he referred to Countryside as home even though he gave up his farm home of 86 years to go into assisted living.

Bob is survived by his wife Betty of Countryside Assisted Living in Mitchell, daughter Marianne (Bob) Houkom of Iowa City, IA, sons Dan (Linda) of Hill City, SD, and Phil (Nancy) of Bloomington, MN. Bob is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, a niece Linda Beckman, nephews Duane and Steven Beckman, and close friends Vickie and Dan Dykes. Bob was preceded in death by his son Bill in 2003, granddaughter Jennifer (Phil's daughter) in 2007, two great-grandsons Cole and Jacob (Scot's sons), his parents and four sisters.
