Renner advances to Class A title game

The Renner Monarchs beat the Sioux Falls Brewers 3-1 for a spot in the South Dakota Class A state amateur baseball tournament championship game Saturday at Cadwell Park in Mitchell.

Renner will take on the Vermillion Red Sox at 12 p.m. Sunday at Cadwell Park for the Class A title.

Going to the ninth inning tied at 1, the Monarchs were able to score two runs and turn a game ending double play on the Brewers.

Tim Huber was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead the Renner offense.

Dallas Schneiderman pitched 8 ⅓ innings allowing one run off 10 hits and striking out one.

Blake Fiedelman took the loss for the Brewers, pitching eight innings, giving up one run off five hits and striking out seven.

Byrce Berg went 1-for-4 with a single and an RBI for Sioux Falls.
