Reimnitz, Mastel win art awards for Mitchell
GROTON -- Students from Mitchell High School attended the 19th Annual All-Dakota Fine Arts High School Exhibition at the Granary Rural Cultural Center on April 25 near Groton.
Mitchell High School received the South Dakota team award.
Brittany Reimnitz received a judge's choice award for her painting and Kelsie Mastel received a student choice award in photography.
The event, co-sponsored by the Dacotah Prairie Museum in Aberdeen and the Granary, attracted approximately 160 students and art teachers from 18 schools in North and South
Dakota who participated in a variety of workshops and viewed the exhibition of student art.
The day-long event included a session with the two professional artists, Jacqueline Anderson, Moorhead, Minn., and Laurel Steigelmeier, Claremont, who judged the student art and awarded prizes in 10 media categories.
