Reiff was the 23rd overall selection in April's NFL Draft. He reported to training camp Monday as the final Lion to sign a rookie contract.

"It was real important for me to be here," Reiff told The Detroit News. "I wanted to be here. I didn't want to miss any time. I thought it was a big part of this whole process to get the contract done before training camp started."

Reiff could challenge for the starting right tackle job, several news outlets have reported. He played collegiately at Iowa, starting 34 consecutive games for the Hawkeyes. He helped Iowa to an Orange Bowl victory as a redshirt freshman.

"I am just coming in ready to work," he said. "If I do (start), if I don't, I am just here to work right now and put in the time."

Reiff and the Lions start training camp practice Friday in Allen Park, Mich. The Lions open the preseason Aug. 8 at home against the Cleveland Browns. Game time is 6:30 p.m. at Ford Field in Detroit.

Their first regular-season game is at noon Sept. 9 in Detroit against the St. Louis Rams.
