Regents will name interim DSU president
PIERRE (AP) -- The South Dakota Board of Regents has established a process and timeline to find the next Dakota State University president.
DSU President Douglas Knowlton recently announced plans to take a higher education position in Minnesota. His last day in Madison is Feb. 10.
Regents President Kathryn Johnson says that because of the difficulty in filling the position late in the academic year, the board will hire an interim president as it conducts its search. Johnson says the board will soon announce an interim president who will begin Feb. 1.
The board at its meeting in June will then announce members of a search and screen committee.
Knowlton is taking a job as vice chancellor for academic and student affairs with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.
