Rapid City officials consider prayer dispute over
RAPID CITY (AP) — Rapid City Mayor Sam Kooiker (KWAY'-kur) says a U.S. Supreme Court decision on prayer should end the dispute over the City Council's practice of beginning meetings with an invocation.
Justices say prayers that open town council meetings don't violate the Constitution even if they routinely stress Christianity. The ruling was a victory for Greece, New York.
