Rapid City hotel shooting wounds 1; suspect flees
RAPID CITY (AP) — Rapid City police are investigating a shooting at a hotel that wounded a man, and searching for the suspect.
Officers were called to the Budget Host Inn about 2:30 a.m. Friday for a report of shots fired. They found a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to a hospital. Police did not state his condition.
Authorities say initial reports indicate the man was in a room with several people. They say a male relative of a woman in the room came there, got into an argument, and pulled out a handgun and fired at the victim after being told to leave.
The suspect fled and police are continuing to search for him.
