Public invited to briefing on benefits of investing in SD children
Mitchell area residents are invited to learn firsthand at a one-hour, noon briefing on Tuesday on the benefits of investing in South Dakota children, hosted by Mitchell Congregational UCC, Mitchell.
• Carole Cochran, director of South Dakota Kids Count, The University of South
Dakota, Beacom School of Business;
• Jennifer Kline, executive director, South Dakota Voices for Children;
• Megan Larson, director, South Dakota Afterschool Partnership.
The briefing will focus on state and local children's data, children's policies and
programs that the state legislature needs to support, and opportunities for children after school
when their parents are at work.
Water will be provided; those who attend are invited to bring a brown bag lunch.
Reservations are not needed; the briefing is open to all who are interested in improving the lives of South Dakota children.
