Power goes out in Mitchell
A power outage Monday morning left an estimated 5,000 customers without electricity for a short time in Mitchell.
NorthWestern Energy spokesman Tom Glanzer said the cause of the outage was related to a transformer. The most-affected area appeared to on the south side of Mitchell, as L.B. Williams Elementary, Mitchell Technicial Institute and Dakota Wesleyan University all reported some outages. In addition, multiple stop lights were out in Mitchell, with temporary stop signs being placed along Havens Avenue during the mid-morning Monday.
