Police: Sioux Falls man held woman captive for over a month
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Police in Sioux Falls say they have arrested a man who held a woman captive for more than a month.
The 35-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court Monday on various charges including aggravated assault, rape and kidnapping.
Police on Monday said the man was arrested Friday after a standoff with police. Authorities rescued the 25-year-old woman and a baby from the home.
Police say the woman had been held against her will because the man was afraid she'd tell police he was at that home. The man had warrants out for his arrest in connection with another incident.
The woman told police she left the home for work at one point, but the man followed her all day. Police say the woman's employer called authorities after becoming suspicious.
