Pochop elected president of SD Trial Lawyers Association
GREGORY -- Gregory attorney Stephanie Pochop has been elected president of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association.
The association, which has more than 500 members, promotes public awareness of the legal system and encourages professional excellence within the legal field.
Pochop is a 1984 graduate of Gregory High School. She attended USD and graduated from the USD School of Law in 1991. Pochop returned to Gregory and entered the practice of law in the Johnson Eklund law firm, which is now the Johnson Pochop law firm consisting of Pochop, George Johnson and Amy Bartling.
Pochop was named the USD Women In Law Attorney of the Year in 2010 and is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Pochop represents the third generation of her family to hold a leadership position in the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. Her grandfather, George Johnson, was a founding member who served as the secretary/treasurer in 1968-69, and her father, Rick Johnson, was the president of the Association in 1976-77.
