Pierre pilot killed in small plane crash identified as Paul Lee
PIERRE (AP) -- Authorities have identified a man who died in the crash of a single-engine experimental airplane at the Pierre airport as local pilot Paul Lee.
The plane crashed on takeoff Tuesday morning. The Federal Aviation Administration identified it as an SQ2000, a plane that can be built from a kit. Airport Manager Mike Isaacs says the 69-year-old Lee owned the plane.
