Jamie Payne, 10, a fourth-grader at L.B. Williams in Mitchell, looks around Wednesday as he and his class walk around the chambers of the heart inside the AmeriHeart, created by Interactive Exhibits, provided by Sanford Health at the Dakota Wesleyan University Sherman Center in Mitchell. The AmeriHeart is an inflatable heart, allowing students to walk through and observe three different types of heart diseases/disorders. Three DWU student clubs — Student Nurse Association, the biology club CHAOS and the Athletic Training Club — hosted the health fair, which had a fitness station, blood pressure checks, presentation on how to make healthy snacks and a station showing the difference between healthy lungs and smokers’ lungs. Also pictured are Joe VanOverschelde, right, and Carter Long. (Sean Ryan/Republic)
