Mitchell Public Library Director Jackie Hess and Mayor Ken Tracy break ground Friday on a renovation and expansion. Architect Larry Jirsa says the project will take roughly 15 months to complete; the library will stay open. Sunkota Construction of Sioux Falls will do work on the building for $1.88 million and other interior work is expected to cost $200,000. The city has set aside $2.3 million for the project.
