The James Valley Community Center in Mitchell is seeking donations for its Hunger Tree. The tree has 73 names of seniors who can’t afford meals. Amy Hurt, JVCC senior services coordinator, said the goal is to give punch tickets for 20 meals to each of the seniors, at a cost of $70 per ticket. The center has raised $606 of the $5,110 needed. Donations will be accepted at the JVCC at 300 W. First Ave. until Dec. 23. (Sean Ryan/The Daily Republic)
