Pheasant Country wants your vote
A local game production area would benefit from a grant if a Pheasants Forever conservation project is selected in a contest conducted by SportDOG, a manufacturer of electronic training products for sporting dogs.
Mitchell’s branch of Pheasants Forever, Pheasant Country, would receive a portion of the $25,000 grant given to the winner of the contest and would apply the money to improving nesting cover and habitat at the Bluestem Game Production Area, which is about five miles south of Mitchell.
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s Youth Pollinator Habitat Program project intends to create pollinator habitat in five states to provide quality habitat for pollinating insects as well as pheasants and quail. In addition, the project sites serve as an outdoor classroom for students and future students to gain an understanding and appreciation for wildlife habitat.
Local Pheasants Forever representatives Mike Stephenson and Mike Blaalid are asking people to vote for the project online at http://contests.sportdog.com/fff. Anyone can vote once a day until Nov. 15.
