Passed-out driver arrested for several charges
A Sherman man was charged Dec. 15 in Davison County for possessing stolen property and possessing a firearm as a felon.
Randy Ramsey, 35, was arrested for driving under the influence after law enforcement responded to a call of a car in the ditch. Ramsey was passed out behind the wheel when officers arrived on the scene, according to court documents.
Davison County Chief Deputy Steve Harr’s report says officers woke Ramsey up and “it was clear he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.” Ramsey was uncooperative in the arrest, Harr wrote. He was taken to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell for a blood draw and then booked at the Davison County Jail.
Through the investigation, Harr found the car Ramsey had been driving was about to be reported stolen and several items in the vehicle were reported stolen from various burglaries in Sioux Falls.
