PARKSTON -- A Parkston man suffered serious injuries Wednesday when the tractor he was driving rolled and pinned him to the ground, authorities said.

Douglas Bormann, 57, was using a Farmall tractor to do some dirt work around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on his property at 205 S. Railroad St. in Parkston, according to Parkston Chief of Police Greg Reichenberg.

Reichenberg said they believe Bormann drove onto an incline and the tractor tipped, pinning Bormann underneath the tractor. Parkston firefighters had to use equipment to free Bormann, who then was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.

Parkston Fire Department, Parkston Rural Ambulance and Parkston Police Department responded to the accident.
