Former police chief found guilty of murder

Parkston Capital For A Day events set

PARKSTON — On Aug. 27, Parkston will be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day.

Activities for the day will include a ribbon-cutting and ground-breaking ceremony, community social and coffee time with the governor, a Main Street walk, tours and a roundtable meeting.

Citizens are encouraged to attend the community social, where they will have the chance to talk one-on-one with Gov. Dennis Daugaard. The social will be held at the Pony Creek Steakhouse, 714 W. Maple St., from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

First lady Linda Daugaard will be reading to kids at the Parkston Public Library, 110 W. Main St., at 1:30 p.m. All children are invited.
