Norma L. Martin, 82 of Wagner

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner, with burial in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, with the family present.

Norma Lois Martin, daughter of Emil and Frances (Davis) Youngbluth, was born March 14, 1932 at Wagner, SD. She died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner, surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. Norma had attained the age of 82 years, one month and two days.

Norma attended country school and Wagner High School, later earning her GED. She married Leon Martin on June 16, 1949 at Wagner. Four children were blessed to their union. They farmed in the Wagner area and later moved into Wagner. Norma was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She also sold Avon products for many years.

Norma was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wagner and the American Cancer Society.

Norma will be remembered for her enjoyment of gardening, dancing and doing word puzzles. She was a tiny lady who put up a long, hard fight in her battle with cancer.

Thankful for having shared her life are her children: Wanda Johnsen and husband Jerry of Reno, NV, Ron and wife Pam (Birger) of Tyler, TX, Neil and wife Kelly (Chohan) of Wagner, and Brian and wife Helen "Babe" (Bures) of Sunray, TX; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters: Joyce Tichy of Chamberlain, Ona Ingalls of Lake Andes, and Sandi Pringle of Chamberlain; special friend Eddie Kolecka of Armour; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband on June 16, 1992; parents; and sister Elizabeth Youngbluth.
