Nearly half a foot of snow expected in southern SD
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Parts of South Dakota are in for a wintry day.
The National Weather Service says the southern part of the state could see nearly half a foot of snow by Tuesday night. The snow is expected south of Interstate 90, with higher amounts near the Nebraska border.
Meteorologist Mike Fuhs told South Dakota Public Radio that snow was falling in the Black Hills on Tuesday morning and that it was expected to move east throughout the day.
A snow advisory has been posted for southwest South Dakota through late afternoon, and for the southeast into Tuesday evening. Forecasters say the snow could reduce visibilities for travelers and cause slick roads.
