Museum to host show for Mitchell Area Arts Council

The Dakota Discovery Museum will host the third annual Mitchell Area Arts Council Members Show. The exhibit will open Friday and run through Jan. 18 in the Gates Changing Gallery.

The exhibit will feature work by more than 10 artists in a variety of media, including leatherwork, textiles, mixed media, pottery, acrylic and oil painting and photography. There will also be jewelry, pressed flower work, note cards and hand-painted ornaments featured.

A reception for the artists will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. The reception is free to the public. Many works will be available for purchase.

The Dakota Discovery Museum is located on the campus of Dakota Wesleyan University at 1300 McGovern Ave., Mitchell. The museum currently is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday or by appointment only on Sundays and Mondays.
