MTI named 'Great College to Work For'
Mitchell Technical Institute has once again been named a "Great College to Work For," according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.
This is the second consecutive year that MTI has been recognized. This year, MTI was cited for honors in two categories: confidence in senior leadership and facilities, workspace and security. Only 92 institutions of the 278 participating earned recognition.
"The culture of MTI is what makes it great. This team genuinely cares for each other and celebrates and supports each other," said MTI president Greg Von Wald. "They take pride in the institution, share the accomplishments of others, and are quick to recognize the achievements of peers. Their professionalism in accomplishing their mission at exceptionally high levels of performance makes this one of the most enjoyable places I have had the pleasure to lead."
MTI also recently received its third consecutive nomination to the Aspen Institute's Top 150 two-year colleges ranking.
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.
The results, released recently in The Chronicle's seventh annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of more than 43,000 employees.
