MOUNT VERNON -- Jacob Sonne scored 15 points to lead Mount Vernon over Corsica/Stickney 66-49 Friday in a boys' basketball game.

Dean Frey scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds for the Mustangs. Deric Denning and Jared Long each scored 13 points.

Mount Vernon shot 24-of-39 from the field and 14-of-18 from the free-throw line. The team had 22 rebounds and 19 turnovers.

Adam Bormann scored a game-high 17 points for Corsica/Stickney. Ryan Hongslo scored 15 points and had six rebounds. Lane Thomas had five assists.

Corsica/Stickney shot 18-of-43 from the field and 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. The team had 20 rebounds and 24 turnovers.

Mount Vernon is 9-3 and hosts Bridgewater-Emery Tuesday. Corsica/Stickney is 7-4 and plays Bon Homme Monday in Tyndall.

Platte-Geddes 54, Colome 39

COLOME -- Matthew Randall scored 14 points to lead Platte-Geddes over Colome 54-39 Friday.

Cody Wagner scored 10 points and had seven rebounds for Platte-Geddes. Richard Sternberg scored nine points. Tate Van Zee scored eight points. Coby Johnson had seven rebounds. Platte-Geddes had 29 rebounds and 12 turnovers.

Terrance Kinzer scored 12 points and had nine rebounds and five assists for Colome. Brady London scored 10 points and had five rebounds. Cohl Ratermann had five rebounds. Jordan Nelson had four steals. Colome had 32 rebounds and 11 turnovers.

Platte-Geddes is 10-2 and hosts Chamberlain Tuesday in Platte. Colome is 6-8 and plays Kimball/White Lake in Kimball Tuesday.

CHAMBERLAIN -- Chamberlain improved to 9-3 on the season with a 58-48 win over Mobridge-Pollock (8-6) Friday.

Gage Basting scored 13 points and had nine rebounds for Chamberlain. Skyler Bertram scored 10 points. Tyson Langdeau had six assists.

The Cubs shot 23-of-50 from the field and 8-of-14 from the free-throw line. Chamberlain had 28 rebounds and 16 turnovers.

Bailley Friesz scored 16 points for Mobridge-Pollock. Peyton Friesz scored 11 points.

Mobridge-Pollock shot 18-of-48 from the field and 9-of-19 from the free-throw line. The team had 22 rebounds and 19 turnovers.

Chamberlain plays Platte-Geddes in Platte Tuesday. Mobridge-Pollock plays Standing Rock, ND, Tuesday.

Chamberlain won the junior varsity game by 16 points.

Ethan 47, Dakota Christian 39

NEW HOLLAND -- Kendall Lindeman had a double-double in Ethan's win over Dakota Christian 47-39 Friday.

Lindeman scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds. Blake Bartscher scored 10 points and had four assists for Ethan.

Ethan made 20-of-50 field goal attempts for 40 percent and 9-of-11 free throws for 82 percent. The Rustlers had 20 rebounds and 13 turnovers.

Michael Buitenbos and Darren Fallis were the leading scorers for Dakota Christian with 11 points each. Zach Van Zee scored nine points. Jake Spoelstra had six rebounds and Buitenbos had six assists.

Dakota Christian made 17-of-35 field goal attempts for 49 percent and 4-of-9 free throw attempts for 44 percent. The Cadets had 19 rebounds and 13 turnovers.

Ethan is 9-5 and hosts Scotland Thursday. Dakota Christian is 5-8 and hosts Andes Central Monday.

Ethan won the junior varsity game 39-23.

South Central 43

TRIPP -- Adam Fink scored a game-high 21 points to lead Tripp-Delmont/Armour over South Central 52-43 Friday.

Reece Weber scored 13 points in the win. Fink also had five rebounds and five assists for the Nighthawks.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour shot 17-of-28 from the field and 13-of-16 from the free-throw line. The Nighthawks had 18 rebounds and 12 turnovers.

Jordan Janousek scored 10 points for South Central. Tyler Frank scored eight points. Dakota Votaw had eight rebounds.

The Cougars shot 19-of-48 from the field and 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. South Central had 24 team rebounds and six turnovers.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour is 11-3 this season and hosts Marty Friday. South Central plays Corsica/Stickney Tuesday in Corsica.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket defeated Wessington Springs 65-57 in overtime Friday night boys' high school basketball action.

Wessington Springs was led by Trevor Kenobbie who had a double-double scoring 16 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Gus Gran scored 17 points.

Wessington Springs shot 21-of-62 from the field (34 percent) and went 9-of-18 from the free-throw line

(50 percent).

Wessington Springs had 36 total rebounds, Gran grabbing nine. Wessington Springs had 22 total turnovers.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was led in scoring by Nick Miller, who scored 20 points. Davion Brooks had 12 points. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket shot 24-of-52 from the field (46 percent) and went 13-of-17 from the free-throw line. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket had 31 total rebounds. Brooks and Miller each had nine rebounds. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket had 18 total turnovers.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (3-10) hosts Mitchell Christian for its next game on Thursday.

Wessington Springs (6-7) hosts Iroquois on Thursday for its next game.

TRIPP -- South Central improved to 12-5 on the season with a 52-41 win over Tripp-Delmont/Armour (4-10) Friday.

Ashley Green had eight rebounds and five steals for South Central. Schae Hanson had six assists. The Cougars had 30 team rebounds.

Kelli Batterman had five rebounds for Tripp-Delmont Armour. The Nighthawks had 13 team rebounds.

South Central plays Corsica/Stickney in Corsica Tuesday. Tripp-Delmont/Armour plays at Ethan Tuesday.

CHAMBERLAIN -- Kennedy Wagner scored a game-high 29 points to lead Chamberlain over Mobridge-Pollock 63-56 Friday.

Logan Pickner scored 10 points and had 11 rebounds for Chamberlain. Frankie Willard scored nine points.

Chamberlain shot 21-of-39 from the field and 16-of-22 from the free-throw line. The Cubs had 32 rebounds and 22 turnovers.

Mobridge-Pollock was led in scoring by Katie Heil with 19 points. Kady Pinney scored 15 points. Michelle McClellan scored 12 points. Cassidy Ulmer had eight rebounds.

Mobridge-Pollock shot 20-of-56 from the field and 12-of-23 from the free-throw line. The team had 25 rebounds and 17 turnovers.

Chamberlain is 9-5 and plays Platte-Geddes Tuesday in Platte. Mobridge-Pollock is 8-5 and hosts Ipswich Friday in Mobridge.

Chamberlain won the junior varsity game.

HOWARD -- Sioux Valley defeated Chester 45-32 in the second round of the Big East Conference Tournament Friday.

Haley Hilestad scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds for Sioux Valley. Carley Peterson scored 12 points. Natasha Halbersma scored 11 points.

The Cossacks shot 18-of-66 from the field and 13-of-20 from the free-throw line. The team had 41 rebounds and 11 turnovers.

Erin Benson scored 17 points and had nine rebounds for Chester Area. The Flyers shot 18-of-66 and 13-of-20 from the free-throw line. The team had 37 rebounds and 16 turnovers.

Sioux Valley plays Parker for the tournament championship in Volga today. Chester Area plays Baltic in the final round of the tournament today.

PARKER -- Haley Edmundson scored a game-high 16 points to defeat Flandreau 43-39 in the second round of the Big East Conference Tournament Friday.

Sydney Gibson scored nine points and had eight rebounds. Garretson shot 16-of-49 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. The Blue Dragons had 35 rebounds.

Brice Rose and Brooke Relf scored nine points each for Flandreau. Kelly Johanson scored eight points. Relf also had 10 rebounds. The Fliers shot 17-of-46 from the field and 1-of-4 from the free-throw line. Flandreau had 33 rebounds and 16 turnovers.

Garretson plays McCook Central/Montrose in the final round of the Big East Conference Tournament today in Volga. Flandreau plays Howard in the final round of the tournament today.

Howard -- Sierra Miles led McCook Central/Montrose with 13 points and nine rebounds Friday night as McCook Central defeated Howard 40-28 in high school girls' basketball action.

McCook Central shot 13-48 from the field while knocking down 13-25 from the line.

Howard finished the night shooting 10-51 from the field and 7-12 from the line as Kelsey Dawson led the team with 10 points and Jenna Clark came down with 11 rebounds for Howard.

Both teams play today as Howard (1-12) will take on Flandreau and McCook Central/Montrose (6-8) faces off against Garretson. Both games will take place in Volga in the Big East Conference tournament.

Parkston 69, Avon 39

Parkston-- Erica Herrold finished with 21 points to lead Parkston to a 69-39 win over Avon in girls' basketball on Friday night. Parkston shot 27-60 from the field and 9-13 from the line.

Avon was led by Chesney Nagel who scored 12 points as Avon went 11-52 from the field and 16-21 at the line.

Parkston improved to 9-3 on the season and takes on McCook Central/Montrose in Salem on Tuesday.

Avon falls to 6-6 on the season and travels to Menno on Tuesday.

Wagner 48, Scotland 29

Scotland-- Wagner stays undefeated in girls' basketball as they defeated Scotland 48-29 in Scotland on Friday night.

Devon Brecke led the way for Wagner putting up 16 points whil Jessa Doom added 14. LaShawn Medicine Horn also scored in double figures finishing with 10 points. Jessa Doom finished with a game high in rebounds with eight.

Kennedy Asche was the only Scotland player with double digit points as she recorded 10 points while also leading the team with six rebounds.

Scotland, now 10-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play, takes on Alcester-Hudson in Freeman today. Wagner sits at 15-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play and will take on Andes Central on the road on Wednesday.

Wagner won the Junior Varsity game 40-38.

Parker 72, Baltic 63 (OT)

Volga--Parker defeated Baltic 72-63 in overtime in a girls' basketball game in the BEC tournament on Friday night.

Anna Leloux recorded a double-double for Parker finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Alycia Pesicka and Micalanne Hanten tied for a team high in scoring with 16 points while Morgan Hay added another 12. Hay also finished with eight rebounds.

Parker shot 22-72 from the field and 25-33 from the line.

Baltic shot 24-64 from the line and 13-20 from the field and had two girls score at least 20 points as Allie Walter finished with 20 points and eight rebounds and Morgan Forsch scored a game high 22 points. Kari Folsland put up 11 points in the loss.

Today both teams have BEC tournament games; Baltic will play Chester in Volga while Parker (9-5) will take on Sioux Valley.
