Motorcyclists thrown in crash
Two motorcyclists who were traveling without helmets were thrown from their motorcycles Monday during a morning accident east of Mitchell on State Highway 38.
According to information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol, two Harley-Davidson motorcyclists were traveling on Highway 38 when the lead driver attempted to make a turn on 413th Avenue, three miles east of Mitchell.
The rear driver did not see the front motorcyclist attempting to slow down and sideswiped the lead motorcycle, throwing the riders from the motorcycles.
One of the drivers was taken to Avera Queen of Peace in Mitchell to be treated for injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol handled the incident. No other information was immediately available Monday. The Hanson County Sheriff's Department and Mitchell Ambulance also assisted with the matter.
