SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- The mother of a South Dakota woman authorities say was slain by her boyfriend is upset that prosecutors don't plan to seek the death penalty against the suspect if he's convicted of murder.

Thirty-six-year-old Kent Davidson is accused of fatally shooting 26-year-old Crystal Schulz in the head with a shotgun on March 11. Her body was found three days later in a shed at her mother's residence in rural Chamberlain.

Prosecutors last month said they don't plan to seek the death penalty if there's a conviction, though they reserve the right to revisit their decision.

Schulz's mother, Aggie Schulz Clement, tells KELO-TV that the death penalty would bring her daughter justice. She wants prosecutors to reconsider.

Davidson has pleaded not guilty.
