DWU men take sixth at invite By The Daily Republic
Dakota Wesleyan University recorded a two-round total of 648, finishing three strokes behind Ottawa (Kan.). Bethany College won the invite with a 600, winning by 39 strokes.
DWU’s top finisher was Mac Young, who took 13th after recording a 158. Anthony Husher also finished in the top 20 with a 160 for 18th.
Brunke, Porter place for Tigers By The Daily Republic
WAYNE, Neb. — Haley Brunke and Daniel Porter each had top 10 finishes for the Dakota Wesleyan University track and field team at the Wildcat Invite over the weekend.
Brunke, a Scotland native, took fourth in the 10,000-meter run, while Porter was eighth in the triple jump. Brunke’s time was 42 minutes, 18.76 seconds and Porter jumped 41 feet, 10 inches.
Ariana Arampatzis was 20th in the javelin, Jessica Neises was 25th in the 400-meter hurdles and Skylar Forgety finished 28th in the 1,500-meter run.
On the men’s side, Isaac Van Essen was 23td in the long jump, Jeff Sahli took 24th in the 5,000-meter run and Paul Apenhorst was 27th in the 110 hurdles and 29th in the 400 hurdles.
