Parkston wins all 3 duals Saturday at The Clash
ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Parkston wrestling team won all three of its duals Saturday at The Clash to finish in first place in the seventh bracket in Rochester, Minn.
The Trojans beat Archbishop Moeller of Ohio 42-24, before defeating New Prague of Minnesota 34-27. Parkston ended the meet with a 44-24 win over Thompson of Alabama.
Wes Dvorak, Brady Reiff, Miles Semmler and Mitch Heisinger each won all three of their matches Saturday.
Dvorak was the lone Trojan to win all six of his matches at the tournament, while Heisinger and Reiff each finished 5-1.
Parkston hits the mat again in a dual with Wagner Thursday in Parkston.
Mitchell Marlin boys fall to Sioux Falls 4-3 in OT
SIOUX FALLS — The Mitchell Marlins boys’ hockey team fell to Sioux Falls 4-3 in overtime Saturday in Sioux Falls.
The Marlins got a strong performance from goalie Weston Gauger, who stopped 40 of the 44 shots he faced.
Jacob Rice netted two goals and Jordan Grosdidier picked up a goal and two assists for Mitchell. Alex Murtha, Cole Carlson and Jacob Cersosimo each finished with one assist.
The Flyers outshot the Marlins 44-17. Caleb Anderson scored two goals for Sioux Falls, while Nathan Miller had the game winner in overtime.
The Marlins (2-4) return home for the first of three-straight games at the Mitchell Activities Center starting with Aberdeen at 4 p.m. Saturday.
