Mitchell's CVB director to become regional workforce coordinator
Mitchell Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Jacki Miskimins will soon become the regional workforce coordinator for the Mitchell Area Development Corporation, according to a news release issued Wednesday.
An announcement about the position was also made Wednesday during an event at Mitchell Technical Institute, at which Gov. Dennis Daugaard presented a recently released report created as a result of six workforce summits held earlier this year across South Dakota.
Miskimins will begin in her new position on Oct. 1. Katie Knutson, the CVB's marketing coordinator, will replace Miskimins as the CVB's director.
As regional workforce coordinator, Miskimins will work with businesses, educators and local organizations to develop and implement a strategy to build the region's workforce and support the area's employment opportunities.
"I'm excited to continue serving the community of Mitchell, particularly in a role that is fundamental to our economy and our future," Miskimins said in the news release.
