A Mitchell teen was injured when his bike collided with an SUV Thursday night.

Around 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, a 14-year-old Mitchell boy was riding a bicycle south on the east sidewalk of Kimball Street in Mitchell, according to Mitchell Police Officer Brian Larson. At the intersection of Kimball and Seventh Avenue, a 2011 GMC Yukon, driven by Linda Hauser, 61, of Dimock, was eastbound on Seventh. Larson said Hauser and the bicyclist did not see each other, and the bike and SUV collided at the intersection.

He said the boy, whose name authorities declined to release pending notification of family members, and because he is a juvenile, was transported by ambulance to Avera Queen of Peace with non-life-threatening injuries. Larson said no citations were issued.
