Mitchell teen gets jail, probation for bad checks
A Mitchell man was sentenced Tuesday to three years of probation and 180 days in jail for grand theft.
Buck Louis James, 18, was also ordered to pay more than $1,800 in restitution to several Mitchell businesses for passing numerous bad checks.
James was given credit for 50 days he has served in the Davison County Jail. He will serve 25 days in jail immediately, another 55 days starting Oct. 1, and another 50 days starting Oct. 1, 2015.
Judge Tim Bjorkman said he would consider granting James a suspended imposition of sentence at a later date. A suspended imposition gives offenders the chance to keep a clear record if they follow all terms of probation.
